 Why should I buy one?
You should buy one because your fuel injected Harley needs one. The Ridemaxx wireless EFI control system is the future of the industry. It is a unit developed by and for Harley riders and has a number of competitive advantages: - 1. A wire harness free solution with no need for direct access to the injector channels reduces installation time to minutes.
- 2.The included handle bar mounted RideTuner allows you to swap maps on the fly between three separate modes: Auto, Power, and Economy.
- 3.With a Bluetooth® enabled device, such as a cell phone or notebook, you can access the FuelMaxx ECU unit, and in turn, communicate with your bike; this makes valuable information available on your ride, such as pulse width, throttle position, duty, load, gear, rpm, and fuel consumption and allows for complete data logging. Furthermore, you can wirelessly send new map configurations for your bike to RideMaxx without so much as lifting your seat.
How does it stack up against the competition?
It is the only completely wireless system on the market. It offers on the fly map swapping between three separate modes at a thumb's touch on your handlebar. And as a Bluetooth® enabled unit it offers easy map upgrading like no other device.
 How much does it cost?
The feature rich Ridemaxx retails for $299.99 and includes the FuelMaxx ECU unit, the handlebar mounted RideTuner, installation tools, and software with the current map database, plus a one year manufacturer's warranty.
What about future wireless device expansion (gauges etc.)?
At AMFD we are dedicated to advancing the industry. Ridemaxx is the first of an extensive line we are developing; in the future we will offer a full range of expansion options, including pairing with companies at the forefront of the industry, to fully utilize current technology.
Can it adjust timing and idle?
At this time, Ridemaxx offers no ability to adjust timing and idle. To implement these features would mean a much higher price-point to the end customer. Our goal is to provide affordable EFI control to all riders; however, in the future such a device may be developed.
How do you load and change maps?
With the Ridemaxx software you simply send the desired map wirelessly to the FuelMaxx unit with a Bluetooth® enabled device. You can acquire these maps from the included software disc, our online database, or by creating a custom map by tuning at any dynamometer.
How do I connect RideMaxx with my Bluetooth® enabled computer?
With your unit installed and the bike in ignition, run your computer's Bluetooth® connection wizard and then the RideMaxx Wizard. See our guide on common Bluetooth® Wizards.
In the RideMaxx tuning software why do I get the "Value cannot be null" dialogue?
A valid COM port for your computer and RideMaxx to communicate has not been selected. Open the Software Options and use the Connection Wizard to select a valid port. In future software releases, starting with RideMaxx 1.0.3, this has been resolved.
While finishing my RideMaxx installation(as per the manual) why won't the FuelMaxx LEDs come on?
Ensure your bike's Ignition Switch is turned to Ignition and your Run Switch is turned On. If the LEDs still do not indicate, please contact our technical support.1.866.930.2930
How much will future maps cost and how do I get one?
The Ridemaxx maps are free. We have tuning specialists working on perfecting and updating our database on our in-house dynamometer. While we offer a large variety of maps, some bike setups may not be in our database yet; maps can also be custom made for your bike at a dynamometer. We invite you to give us a call regarding open time slots to custom map your ride on our dynamometer. These maps will be made openly available on our website.
What models are you currently supporting?
All Delphi ECU EFI models of the Touring and Softail Harley Davidsons are supported. Open loop will be available in April 2008, while the closed loop models will follow shortly. On their heels, open loop and closed loop Dynas, Sportsters, and VRods will follow.
At this time, Magneti Marelli ECU's are not supported.
 What is your warranty?
AMFD offers a one year manufacturer's warranty.
What is the minimum order quantity?
We invite both dealers and distributors to contact us directly for all questions concerning ordering.
Will there be different color choices instead of the yellow on the RideTuner handlebar unit?
At the V-Twin Expo 2008, and in some product shots, we showcased a RideTuner unit with yellow trim; this was simply for display purposes and the actual units will feature a dark gray trim. In the near future, we will be offering a chrome upgrade kit to match certain chrome switch housings.
